What is UNBNK?
UNBNK is Unbanked’s own digital currency and is the payment token used on all Unbanked products. Every BlockCard uses UNBNK as the default spendable asset. All non-UNBNK deposits such as Bitcoin are converted to UNBNK when deposited in the BlockCard dashboard. The value of UNBNK is tied to usage of the BlockCard ecosystem. As users deposit on BlockCard, the value of UNBNK increases. As people spend, the value decreases. We have worked hard to build utility of UNBNK into the functionality of BlockCard.
In June of 2021, Ternio as a company rebranded to Unbanked. This new identity speaks to the full suite of crypto-friendly services we offer and helps people “get unbanked” from the legacy financial system. Unbanked was founded on the belief that financial access and control is a fundamental human right, best empowered by the blockchain.
